Trustee and fund management

Trustee and fund management

A board of trustees is in charge of managing the Fund and making decisions about its investments, benefits and structures all in the best interests of its members. At least 50% of the members of this board are elected by members and pensioners. The remaining 50% comprises of trustees who are appointed by local authorities and additional trustees who may be independent (i.e suitably experienced individuals who have no connection with local or national government).

The board of trustees is assisted by the principal officer in running the Fund. The principal officer must ensure that the decisions taken by the board are actioned and that all the Fund’s service providers, including the administrator, fulfill the conditions of their contracts and mandates
